Mister Pip

Another whisper from Spy Mouse is that US librarians are giving an enthusiastic recommendation to Mister Pip by Booker shortlisted author Lloyd Jones.

While Jones, a fellow Wellingtonian, might be missing out on royalties and payment rights from any American version of the Author's Fund (which, in New Zealand, compensates local writers for sales lost through library borrowing), this is great news. Not only should it revive interest in the great Charles Dickens, but it must help the international image of New Zealand writing in general.
